Anthony Damiani, LPCC
Anthony (Tony) Damiani offers authentic traditional Catholic therapy specializing in trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, sexual issues, pornography, substance use and faith issues.
Tony is a licensed Catholic therapist and the founder of Corpus Christi Counseling Center. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) through the state of Minnesota. He received his Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Bethel University. Before graduating from Bethel, he graduated with a B. A. from St. Cloud State where he studied Psychology and Counseling.
Tony has over a decade of experience in the mental health field, working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals with autism, special needs, and African refugees recovering from traumatic stress. His counseling philosophy is rooted in the belief that each person is the expert on their own experiences and he seeks to draw out his clients’ unique understanding through a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance. His approach emphasizes the inherent dignity of each person, as affirmed by Catholic teaching, and encourages clients to embrace their unique God-given identity. As a therapist, Tony views his role as one of guiding, challenging, and supporting clients while addressing the negative beliefs that may hinder their growth. Drawing inspiration from Catholic principles, he seeks to invite Christ’s peace into areas of confusion in his clients’ lives, fostering hope, healing and lasting change.
Tony states, “I know that Jesus is the ‘Wonderful Counselor’ (Isaiah 9:6) and that all things are possible through Him. As members of the body of Christ, and true children of God, Jesus wants what’s best for us, but unfortunately, all are broken in some way. I hope that through a shared therapeutic alliance, and also with the help of meditation and frequent Sacraments, you will grow and be able to overcome the barriers in your life and ultimately see yourself the way God sees you.”
When Tony is not working, he spends time with his wife and raises their seven children. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, BWCA trips, carpentry, gardening, and anything else outdoors.
